Every Question
Answered Honestly.
We believe the best way to earn your trust is to answer every question you have — including the ones that might make us look bad. Nothing is off limits here.
The Big 5 — #1
Cost & Pricing
How much does ErrandJoy cost?
Great — and we're glad you asked directly. Here's the complete answer:
Pay Per Run: $19 base fee, which covers your first 3 stops. Each additional stop is $4. If you add rush service (2-hour window), that's +$12.
Monthly Plan ($79/month): 8 runs included, up to 5 stops each. This works out to about $9.88 per run — roughly half the per-run rate.
Business Plan ($199/month): 25 runs with unlimited stops per run. Best for offices or high-volume households.
Plus: If your runner needs to make purchases on your behalf, you pay exact cost (we add nothing). Tipping is optional and 100% goes to your runner. There are no hidden fees. See our full pricing page for every fee and what's never charged.
Are there any fees you don't advertise up front?
No. Every fee we charge is listed on our pricing page, including evening surcharges (+$5), weekend runs (+$3), holiday runs (+$10), and rush service (+$12). We will never charge you something that wasn't disclosed before you confirmed your booking.
What if my errand run turns out to be cheaper or more expensive than estimated?
We give you an estimated total when you book based on your stop count and schedule. If your runner finishes faster than expected (fewer stops needed), you only pay for what was done. If you add stops mid-run via chat, we'll notify you of the added cost before confirming the change.
Is there a free trial?
We don't offer a free trial, but we do offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee on your first run. If your first ErrandJoy experience doesn't meet your expectations, contact us within 24 hours and we'll refund your run fee — no questions asked. We're that confident you'll love it.
Can I get a discount for referrals?
Yes! When you refer a friend who books their first run, you both receive a $10 credit. There's no cap on referrals — refer 10 friends, earn $100 in credits. Look for the "Refer a Friend" button in your account dashboard.

Safety & Trust
Is it safe to let a stranger run my errands?
This is our most common question, and you deserve a complete answer.
Every ErrandJoy runner goes through: (1) Government ID verification, (2) Criminal background check, (3) Driving record review, (4) Sex offender registry check, (5) In-person or video skills assessment, and (6) A supervised trial run.
Additionally, runners never have access to your passwords, financial accounts, or personal documents. Purchase errands use an ErrandJoy-issued prepaid card loaded with exactly the amount you authorize. And your runner's GPS location is live and visible to you the entire time.
What if a runner steals something or damages property?
In our years of operation, runner theft has occurred in less than 0.01% of runs. In every confirmed case, we have provided a full refund and terminated the runner's account immediately.
All runners are required to carry a valid driver's license and are covered under our platform insurance policy for any damage caused while on an ErrandJoy run. If something goes wrong, contact support immediately and we will make it right.
Can a runner access my pharmacy or Amazon account?
No. Runners use your prescription number, confirmation number, or QR code (which you upload to the app) — they never need your password or account login. For Amazon returns, the QR code in your Returns Center is sufficient and requires no account access. We have designed our entire workflow to eliminate any need for account credentials.
What happens if my runner doesn't show up?
If a runner cancels or goes unresponsive after confirming your booking, we immediately reassign your run to another available runner. If we cannot fulfill your run due to no available runners in your area, you receive a full refund. We also notify you by SMS as soon as we know there's an issue — we will never leave you hanging without communication.
Are ErrandJoy runners employees or contractors?
ErrandJoy runners are W-2 employees of ErrandJoy, Inc. — not 1099 independent contractors. This is intentional. It means every runner has gone through our full HR onboarding, is covered by our workers' comp policy, receives proper tax documentation, and is held to our internal standards of conduct. We believe this produces better, more accountable runners.

What Errands Do You Handle?
What kinds of errands do ErrandJoy runners handle?
Our runners handle the vast majority of common non-grocery errands, including:
• Pharmacy: Rx pickup, OTC items, vaccination records
• Dry Cleaning: drop-off and pickup
• Shipping/Returns: Amazon returns at UPS/Kohl's, FedEx hold package retrieval, USPS drop-off
• Pet Errands: Petco/PetSmart curbside, vet Rx pickup
• Recycling: electronics, cardboard, donations
• Retail: buy-online/pickup-in-store, exchanges, returns
• Light purchasing: picking up a specific item under your authorized spend limit
If you're unsure if we can handle a specific errand, message us at hello@errandjoy.com and we'll give you a straight answer.
Can runners pick up groceries?
We focus on non-grocery errands — things like pharmacy pickups, returns, dry cleaning, and shipping — because we do those things exceptionally well. Grocery delivery is already well-served by Instacart, DoorDash, and others. However, if you need a runner to pick up a single grocery item as part of a multi-stop errand run, that's fine — just add it as a stop with your shopping list.
Can a runner pick up a package that requires my ID or signature?
For packages requiring an adult signature, we can handle these if you provide written authorization (we'll supply the form). For packages requiring YOUR specific ID, the runner can attempt pickup with your authorization letter — most FedEx and UPS locations accept this. If a location refuses, your runner will notify you immediately and you'll only be charged a partial run fee.
What errands can ErrandJoy NOT do?
We want to be honest about our limits. Our runners cannot:
• Enter your home (we're a pickup/dropoff service, not a home services provider)
• Drive your vehicle
• Handle medical procedures, notarizations, or legal documents without your advance arrangement
• Purchase alcohol or tobacco (platform policy)
• Make large cash transactions over $200
• Handle hazardous materials (certain chemicals, medical waste)
If your errand falls outside these lines, we'll tell you upfront before you book.

How It Works
How far in advance do I need to book?
You can book same-day runs if you book by 12:00 PM local time. For next-day runs, book any time today. For specific time windows or rush service, earlier is better — but we often have availability within a few hours for standard runs.
Can I add or change stops after I've booked?
Yes, up to 1 hour before your run starts. You can add stops, modify instructions, or remove stops through the app or website. Changes within 1 hour of the run start may not be possible if your runner has already begun their route.
What if a store doesn't have my item in stock?
Your runner will contact you via in-app chat before moving on. You can choose to: (a) skip that stop, (b) try a different nearby location, or (c) approve a substitute. We never make substitution decisions without your input.
Do I need to download an app?
No! You can book, track, and manage everything from our website at errandjoy.com. Our mobile apps for iOS and Android offer a better experience (especially for live GPS tracking), but they're optional.
Can I set up a recurring weekly errand schedule?
Yes, and it's one of our most popular features. Monthly members can set up recurring runs on specific days and times — your "Every Tuesday at 10 AM" run is saved, pre-filled with your template, and automatically assigned to a runner. You can modify it anytime or skip a week with 24 hours notice.

How is ErrandJoy different from TaskRabbit?
TaskRabbit is great for home repair and handyman tasks. ErrandJoy is built specifically for multi-stop errand runs — pharmacy, dry cleaning, returns, recycling, curbside pickups all in one trip. TaskRabbit doesn't offer multi-stop errand sequencing, live GPS tracking, or photo confirmation at every stop. And our runners are W-2 employees, not gig contractors.
Why not just use Instacart or DoorDash?
Those services are excellent for grocery and food delivery. But they won't pick up your prescription, drop off your dry cleaning, retrieve your FedEx hold package, and return your Amazon order in one run. That's what ErrandJoy does — multi-stop, multi-category, real-world errand completion.
Policies & Miscellaneous
What cities do you operate in?
We currently serve major metropolitan areas across the US. Enter your ZIP code on the booking page to check availability in your area. We're expanding to new cities monthly — if we're not in your city yet, join our waitlist and we'll notify you the moment we launch near you.
What if I have a bad experience with a runner?
Rate the run 3 stars or below and you'll immediately be prompted to tell us what happened. Our support team reviews every low-rated run within 24 hours. Depending on the issue, we may refund your run, offer a credit, or both. Runners with consistently low ratings are reviewed and removed from the platform.
Is my personal information secure?
Yes. We use bank-grade encryption for all personal and payment data. We do not sell your data to third parties. Runners only see the information they need to complete your specific run — they never see your full name, address, or payment information. We are SOC 2 compliant and conduct regular security audits.
Do you have a mobile app?
Yes! ErrandJoy is available on iOS and Android. The app gives you live GPS tracking with a real-time map, instant push notifications at each stop, and easy access to your run history and templates. Download links are available at errandjoy.com.
